Job Description

The Company:

Summary/Objective:
The Buyer supports daily procurement operations through a variety of purchasing and administrative tasks. Key responsibilities include entering and managing purchase orders maintaining accurate records of open and closed orders and verifying pricing and delivery terms with vendors. This role also assists in monitoring inventory levels coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and helping resolve discrepancies. Additional duties include supporting basic quality control processes reviewing acknowledgements and ensuring that purchasing documentation is complete and up to date.The pay range for this role is fixed at $60000 to $70000 annually commensurate with experience and qualifications.Candidates with strong relevant experience may be offered salaries toward the higher end of the range while those earlier in their careers can expect offers aligned with the entry level of the range.

Essential Functions:

  • Initiate and manage purchase orders (POs) maintain contract pricing records and coordinate pricing and delivery terms with vendors.
  • File and organize completed orders and expedite as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels of stocked items and take appropriate actions such as placing orders or initiating stock transfers to maintain optimal supply.
  • Support Quality Control activities by collaborating with QC personnel assisting in returns processing with shipping and receiving addressing quality concerns and contributing to the standardization of inspection procedures.
  • Partner with the sales team to manage special quote items and expedite order timelines as required.
  • Provide support to both customers and sales by supplying required material certifications certificates and documentation relevant to specific part or order requirements.
  • Coordinate with accounts payable to reconcile vendor invoices and communicate discrepancies with vendors as necessary.
  • Collaborate with vendors the shipping department and freight carriers to consolidate shipments and reduce transportation costs where feasible.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in purchasing/procurement required.
  • Background in one or more of the following industries is highly desirable: printing retail display construction point-of-purchase (POP) signage or hardware distribution.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to make repetitive movements including moving of the wrists/and or fingers bending or squatting.
Work Environment
  • This position will work indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.

  • None.

Kinter is located on the outskirts of Waukegan just minutes from Gurnee and Wadsworth. Office and warehouses are located off IL Route 41 which makes the commute easy from surrounding towns.
