About the role:

As the Assistant Manager you will lead the operational responsibility for the smooth running of Deakins Waurn Ponds Estate and provide a high level of business administration support to the Centre Manager. Providing leadership to a team of hospitality professionals the role will identify opportunities for improvement support the implementation of new initiatives and provide direct guidance to team members. You will liaise with staff students and external clients at all levels drive excellence and foster a collaborative high trust team environment.

As an Assistant Manager Waurn Ponds Estate you will:

  • Coordinate a team to deliver daily operational activities and high-end customer services ensuring that guest experiences exceed expectations and compliments the centre.
  • Plan and oversee room inventory and use yield management strategies to maximise revenue and increase occupancy.
  • Envision and implement customer interactions that meet or exceed customer needs. Generate new ideas in line with market trends to innovate existing processes and practices.
  • Create a high-performance team culture by providing timely support to the team via training mentoring quality assurance activities and act as the first point of escalation.
  • Consistently measure the quality of customer experience and provide useful insights to inform improvements and decision-making.
  • Act as a coach and work with team members to facilitate growth and development by giving balanced constructive feedback considering individual capability and team performance.

To be successful youll have:

  • A Degree with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience in leading and managing a front of house team.
  • Knowledge of licensing laws and food safety regulations.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol.
  • Level 1 First Aid and Chief Warden training.
