Title: Immigration Resources Coordinator
Location: Bronx NY
FLSA Status:Full Time (35 hours)Exempt
Role Summary: The Immigrant Resource Coordinator will play a pivotal role in leading community engagement efforts within the Bronx. This individual will be responsible for recruiting training and managing a network of immigrant volunteers known as Immigrant Helping Hands to conduct culturally appropriate and language accessible community outreach. The coordinator will facilitate the exchange of vital information and resources contributing to the integration and success of immigrants in their new communities.
Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Build partnerships with local organizations religious institutions and cultural groups to identify outreach opportunities and coordinate events such as workshops information sessions and roundtable discussions tailored to immigrant needs.
- Facilitate the distribution of essential resources and referrals related to legal aid healthcare employment and education and maintain an accessible up-to-date resource database for community use.
- Promote civic engagement and awareness among immigrants by organizing educational sessions on immigration rights and citizenship pathways in collaboration with legal service providers.
- Recruit and train volunteers from diverse immigrant communities using culturally sensitive strategies and comprehensive programs focused on cultural competency communication and community engagement.
- Assign volunteers to outreach initiatives aligned with their skills and backgrounds while providing ongoing support supervision and recognition to foster a collaborative volunteer environment.

- Perform other projects as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to travel to multiple NYC sites as needed.
Work Environment / Schedule Requirements:
- This is a full-time exempt position. While standard business hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM exempt employees are expected to work the hours necessary to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the position based on organizational needs deadlines or events.
- May be required to work shifts including evenings or night tours and/or Saturdays Sundays and holidays with holiday pay differential.
- Office setting with regular exposure to computer screens and moderate noise levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field (social work community development immigration studies etc.) preferred
- Minimum three years of experience coordinating community-based initiatives preferably related to immigration
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse groups and individuals.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work within diverse cultural contexts.
- Highly organized detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for community events and meetings.
- Must be able to read speak write and understand English for administrative purposes.
- Must pass drug screening to be appointed.
- This position may be subject to a series of investigations before and after appointment.
