Position: Childrens Program Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: Emergency Shelter Schedule:

  • Mon Tues Thurs: 2:30 PM 8:00 PM
  • Wed: 2:30 PM 6:00 PM

What the job entails:

Bring comfort creativity and stability to children during one of the most important transitions in their lives. As our Childrens Program Assistant youll:

  • Provide nurturing trauma-informed childcare during group/individual parent sessions.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to support each childs emotional and developmental needs.
  • Lead safety talks and intake sessions for new child residents.
  • Help organize and host fun meaningful field trips and holiday parties.
  • Manage and maintain our toy game and supply inventory.
  • Assist with school enrollment and transportation as needed.
  • Create a warm welcoming environment-yes even door decorations count!
  • Be a key part of a team that sees and values the whole child.

Youre a Great Fit If You:

  • Love working with kids and helping them feel safe seen and supported.
  • Are creative patient and great at resolving conflicts.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively especially with children.
  • Can juggle multiple tasks without losing your smile.
  • Are bilingual in Spanish (a big plus!).
  • Can drive and have a reliable car.

Preferred Background

  • Bachelors in child development or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 40-hour Domestic Violence Training (well provide this after hire).
  • CPR & First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).

Other Must-Haves

  • Valid drivers license insurance reliable transportation.
  • Fingerprint background check drug screening & TB test.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and engage in active play with children.
  • Ability to stand walk sit use hands to handle or feel reach with hands and arms climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl talk or hear taste or smell.
  • Vision abilities required by the job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to handle noise and childrens play.
