Multispecialty Sonographer (Permanent Role) Location: Brenham TX 77833
Shift: 12 HR Variable shift
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)
Essential Responsibilities: - Perform various ultrasound procedures using specialized equipment and techniques.
- Accurately identify and measure anatomical structures and abnormalities.
- Adapt examination techniques and extend scope as clinically indicated.
- Integrate and correlate diagnostic data from other exams for comprehensive assessments.
- Apply appropriate safety and protection measures for patients and self.
- Assist physicians with ultrasound guidance during procedures and surgeries.
- Prepare patients for exams including obtaining clinical history and explaining procedures.
- Maintain daily operation and cleanliness of ultrasound lab and equipment.
- Record statistics report equipment issues and ensure quality standards are met.
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor for staff and students.
- Comply with protocols related to PACS EMR image exchange systems and workflow processes.
- Support department accreditation and implement new protocols as technologies evolve.
Key Success Factors: - Proficient in at least two specialties (e.g. OB/GYN Cardiac Vascular Musculoskeletal Small Parts).
- Minimum of 25% of working time must be in the secondary modality.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy physiology and sonographic techniques for each specialty.
- Familiarity with infection control procedures and patient confidentiality regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with team members and providers.
- Competency in computer systems and medical imaging equipment.
- Capable of training new staff and participating in new service initiatives.
- Availability to participate in on-call rotations if required.
Required Qualifications: - Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant multispecialty sonography experience.
- Certifications (must hold at least two of the following from separate specialties):
- ARDMS Certifications:
- RDMS: AB (Abdomen) BR (Breast) OB/GYN PS (Pediatrics)
- RDCS: AE (Adult Echo) FE (Fetal Echo) PE (Pediatric Echo)
- RVT: Registered Vascular Technologist
- RMSKS: Musculoskeletal
- ARRT Certifications:
- S (Sonography) VS (Vascular Sonography) BS (Breast Sonography)
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
