Job Description
Join our Downer Professional Services team and express your interest in future opportunities within ourTechnical and Advisorystream. We are seeking to engage skilled professionals with Defence or Defence industry experience to join our permanent workforce and support complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australias future.
Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units our Technical Advisory and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer a major service partner to Defence. Together we are amulti-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

What Youll Bring
Previous experience ideally within the Defence or consulting services industries.
- Strong Linux OS expertise including automation and administration with hands-on experience using tools like Ansible Puppet Salt or Chef.
- Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker Podman and Kubernetes.
- CI/CD pipeline experience using platforms like GitLab Runners Jenkins or Bamboo supporting agile development and deployment.
- Virtualisation and infrastructure knowledge including VMware and Hyper-V to support scalable and secure environments.
- Understanding of agile and secure environments with experience in SAFe DevOps Scrum and working in air-gapped or Defence settings.
- Cyber security awareness and familiarity with cyber operations
- Ability to produce and review technical documentation
Due to the nature of the work you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimumNegative Vetting 1or higher Security clearance as required by the some instances compliance withInternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
