Summary
The Assistant Director of Community Integration (C.I.) is responsible for working with the Director of Community Integrationin planning administering developing and coordinating the activities of Arc of Greater New Orleans Day Habilitation Centers and Community Integration Activities. They are tasked with supervising our team of Program Coordinators who manage each location across the Greater New Orleans region. They are responsible for overseeing the implementation of the activities necessary to assure acomprehensive variety of experiences and growth for the participants enabling them the opportunities todevelop vocationally and socially and interact with members and opportunities in their lived-in communities. They are tasked with assisting the Director of C.I. in ensuring the program remains in compliance and stays up to date with changes from OCDD CARF and other regulatory bodies.
Essential Job Functions
- Directly supervises Program Coordinators andprovides annual writtenperformance evaluations.
- Ensures timely submission of reports (monthly annually and/or progress) to department Director and Compliance
- Ensures Program Coordinators meet the standards for providing meaningful functional and appropriate activities for all designated participants.
- Assists in recommending and interviewing prospective employees.
- Assures that participants choices are implemented in accordance with the plan.
- Assists Director when appropriate in the development of departmental procedures and goals.
- Monitors programming personnel and makes recommendations to improve services being provided.
- Develops community sites and community integration opportunities.
- Ensures staffing ratios are adequate to facilitate participant activities.
- Assures staff receives on-going training as it relates to their professional development and licensing standards.
- Reviews/approves time sheets of appropriate personnel.
- Regularly communicate with local governing entities support coordination agencies and other stakeholders.
- Stay informed of regulations and changes. Assist in ensuring program is in alignment with best practices.
- Coordinates staff roles and scheduling to ensure safe and high-quality services and support.
- Develops and maintains relationships with community organizations on behalf of ArcGNO.
- Conducts site visits at community centers to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
- Travel to various sites and meetings as needed for the purpose of ratio site evaluation training or planning meetings.
- Drives a company vehicle (van or bus).

Education/Experience Requirements
- Degree in human services or related discipline preferred. Significant related experience in IDD or leadership may be substituted.
- Possesses organizational and supervisory experience and skills.
- Possesses written and verbal skills.
- Demonstrates evidence of a stable personality initiative and creativity.
- Possesses computer skills.
- Protects confidentiality of program participants parents/advocates staff and departmental business affairs.
- Valid Drivers License and auto insurance.
- High usage Cell phone.
