IMEG is growing and wed love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Field Technician in our Rock Island IL office. The Field Technician 2 will be responsible for performing routine tasks as directed by the Construction Manager. As a second level with trainee experience work is checked by others in process and upon completion. The Construction Manager may assign the technician to a construction project to serve as a construction observer to make field measurements documentation entries and read & interpret plans.
Principal Responsibilities
Intermediate to advanced field inspection testing and documentation
Perform independently or interdependently on site and laboratory testing of soils concrete or hot mix asphalt
Attend training to achieve various certifications
Understand operations and identify potential problems
Operate company vehicles
Maintain equipment and vehicle
Observe safety and security procedures
Required Skills/Abilities
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
Ability to read a tape measure in both fractions and tenths
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form
Must always maintain professional conduct
Valid drivers license required with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier
Advanced/Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 15% with occasional overnight stays
Education and Experience
Associates degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
1 years of experience minimum required 2 preferred in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred

Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit walk stand talk see hear and lift objects up to 25 pounds
Occasionally required to drive kneel stoop crouch crawl reach with hands or arms and grasp or pull
Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
Salary Range $. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant.
