ATTENTION ALL ALASKA RESIDENTS!
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Highways and Aviation Valdez District is looking for a Full-Time Equipment Operator Journey 2 to help us
Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:
Equipment Operator Journey 2:- Operate 8-yard dump trucks with plow sander and blade attachments for snow removal and aggregate hauling
- Use motor graders for ditching surface repair and snow operations
- Transport heavy equipment with semi-tractors lowboys belly dumps and water tankers
- Operate dozers (D4D7) loaders and snow blowers for material handling and snow removal
- Perform loader work in pits snow dumping and material loading
- Handle general duties: flagging maintenance manual labor and shop cleanup
- May act as lead entering daily data into the State MMS system
- Operate steam boilers to thaw drainage structures
- Weld and cut materials for equipment maintenance and repair

This is a full-time position located in Cordova Alaska within the Valdez District.Expect a dynamic fast-paced environment with varied responsibilities and conditions. Youll work independently and as part of a team often in challenging weather or terrain. Shift work and emergency responses are part of the role and safety is a priority. Our supportive team and ongoing training ensure you have the tools to succeed in any situation.
