The Technical Officer will work primarily in the Crustacean Research Team supporting fishery research and monitoring across a wide range of project types. The position will work closely with researchers technical officers students and the fishing industry. Fishery research involves handling and analysing large volumes of data; therefore computer literacy is required along with a willingness to learn data processing techniques. The appointee will also be expected to perform specific laboratory and field-based sample collection tasks. The Technical Officer will need to comply with all safety protocols to work in laboratories workshops and on-board research and commercial vessels which includes completing all the training required by IMAS.

Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105665 comprising base salary within the range of $80869 to $90312 plus 17% superannuation.
