Job Description

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment and processes by maximizing the effective utilization of the resources provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Supervise and provide direction to hourly employees in continuous miner longwall maintenance and/or utility work.
  • Plans organizes schedules and coordinates with Shift Supervisor all maintenance and/or utility projects.
  • Supervises all aspects of safe and efficient maintenance of equipment and processes.
  • Implements and maintains compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Task training of personnel as required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of underground coal mining maintenance experience
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communications skills both written and oral
  • Excellent safety and attendance record
  • Utah Mine Foreman Certification or ability to obtain
  • MSHA Electrical Certification
  • Willingness to work weekends

POSITION WILL REPORT TO: Maintenance Coordinator
