Overview
The Bread Baker plays a key role producing high-quality artisan bread for our retail locations catering operations and wholesale clients. This position involves hands-on production of a variety of breads including sourdough baguettes focaccia and specialty loaves using traditional techniques. Working within a collaborative team the Bread Baker is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship efficiency and consistency under the Head Bread Bakers direction.
This is a dynamic role in a high-volume production environment requiring attention to detail excellent time management and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. The Bread Baker will also contribute to maintaining an organized clean and efficient kitchen workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Bread Production: Prepare mix shape proof and bake a variety of breads adhering to established recipes and quality standards.
- Process Management: Working alongside the Head Bread Baker helping to oversee fermentation proofing and baking processes to optimize efficiency and maintain consistent quality.
- Quality Control: Monitor ingredients dough consistency and finished product to ensure adherence to company standards. Report to the Head Bread Baker if there are any issues.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain mixers ovens proofers and other baking equipment.
- Hygiene and Organization: Maintain a clean organized and food-safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management: Assist in communicating inventory needs as well as managing inventory of baking ingredients and supplies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team and delivery staff to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas for improving processes recipes and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- 1 years of professional bread baking experience preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Expertise in traditional bread-making techniques including sourdough fermentation.
- Strong understanding of baking science and ingredient functionality.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Flexibility to work early mornings evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
- Effective communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
