ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS!
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Highways and Aviation is looking for an Equipment Operator Foreman 1 to help us
Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:
- Supervise a highway and airport maintenance crew (6 full-time 3 seasonal) by planning scheduling and directing daily operations.
- Perform and oversee maintenance activities including snow and ice control road and airport surface repair vegetation management and drainage work.
- Operate and coordinate the use of heavy equipment such as plow trucks loaders graders and dozers.
- Maintain records and reports of daily work inventory and materials using the states Maintenance Management System (MMS).
- Respond to public inquiries manage personnel matters and coordinate with other agencies and DOT&PF departments on projects and permitting.

This is a full-time position located in Nome Alaska within the Western District.Expect a dynamic fast-paced environment with varied responsibilities and conditions. Youll work independently and as part of a team often in challenging weather or terrain. Shift work and emergency responses are part of the role and safety is a priority. Our supportive team and ongoing training ensure you have the tools to succeed in any situation.
