Description

Beckhoff Automation is seeking a technically strong and commercially aware Process Industry Technology Specialist to support and grow our presence across North America in industries such as oil & gas chemical and pharmaceuticals. This specialist will work in close partnership with the Process Industry Manager to expand the adoption of Beckhoffs PC-based control solutions. You will serve as a technical expert and industry advocate bridging engineering capabilities with customer this role youll collaborate with global product and industry teams sales and applications engineers to drive innovation and customer success in the process sector.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Business Development

  • Accelerate the growth and visibility of Beckhoff in the process industry vertical.
  • Drive adoption of Beckhoff technologies by supporting OEMs system integrators and end users.
  • Lead technical conversations and architecture planning for customer solutions.
  • Act as the technology lead on complex high-impact opportunities.

Team & Industry Collaboration

  • Provide insights on emerging standards and market trends to Beckhoff stakeholders.
  • Represent Beckhoff at trade shows technical committees and industry groups (e.g. OPAF Ethernet-APL MTP).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support product roadmaps demos and training.
  • Maintain internal alignment with Sales and Application Engineers to support project progress and goals.

Technical Leadership

  • Develop and present technical concepts proofs of concept and TwinCAT-based demos.
  • Support control system programming testing and integration for customer applications.
  • Advise on PC-based control strategies tailored to process industry requirements (e.g. hazardous environments explosion protection).
  • Lead technical discovery sessions and present tailored Beckhoff solutions.

Work Location

This position follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be on-site at our Houston office 2-3 days per week following discussions with the hiring manager with the flexibility to work remotely on other business days. This schedule supports collaboration while offering work-life balance.

Travel

This position requires varying travel ranging from 25-30% which may include day trips overnight stays and occasional extended travel depending on business needs. Travel may be local regional or national. All travel-related expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
