Accountabilities
As the Director of ECS - SAP Development you will be a strategic thinker with deep expertise in SAP solutions driving ERP support for business objectives. You will lead a team of technical experts in designing building testing and implementing ERP solutions that align with AstraZenecas strategy. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing a high-performing team with rich knowledge of SAP technical skills particularly in S/4HANA ABAP development SAP Integration technologies and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) capabilities.
- Collaborating closely with the global SAP team to achieve maximum delivery effectiveness and partner management.
- Anticipating future technology trends within the SAP ecosystem and ensuring AstraZeneca is an early adopter of relevant innovations.
- Delivering uninterrupted business support from both current SAP ECC and future S/4HANA systems.
- Driving activities beyond core responsibilities to chip in to AstraZenecas ambitious 2030 vision.
- Taking full ownership of capability management and people management for specified functional areas.
- Ensuring clear visibility and clarity of resource supply to meet demand forecasts across AM and AD delivery.
- Strategically working with partners for resource supplementation and optimizing external engagements.
- Leading the S/4HANA transformation project activities with meticulous workforce planning.
- Upholding operational aspects of IT within compliance and privacy guidelines.
- Building and supporting teams through active hiring coaching mentoring feedback and career development.
- Encouraging continuous learning and promoting high people engagement.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Overall 15 years of extensive experience with SAP Development (ABAP Integration) including significant leadership experience in leading a large team of experts.
- Deep and practical knowledge in SAP thorough understanding of multi-functional integration in SAP and keen awareness of the SAP product roadmap and new features introduced as part of S/4HANA.
- Strong hands-on experience and deep knowledge of S/4HANA ABAP development principles and standard methodologies including custom code adaptation for S/4HANA CDS views AMDPs and ABAP RESTful Application Programming (RAP).
- Extensive experience with SAP integration technologies such as SAP Process Integration/Orchestration (PI/PO) SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI/Integration Suite) SAP API Management OData services and other modern integration patterns.
- Practical experience and strategic understanding of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) capabilities including Cloud Foundry environment Kyma runtime Cloud Application Programming Model (CAPM) Event Mesh Workflow Management and using AI/ML services within BTP.
- Extensive experience in integrating various AI Platforms with ABAP BTP and PI to accelerate delivery.
- Demonstrable experience leading capability and people (max 50) in a large matrix setup organization with teams with varied strengths.
- Good experience working with senior leaders across business and IT communities demonstrating strong executive presence.
- Superb communication and social skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Experience working in a globally distributed multi-cultural team coupled with strong alignment with AstraZeneca Values and Behaviors.
- Demonstrated Agile Enterprise mentality championing agile principles and practices.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Extensive experience in the Pharma Industry practices and regulatory environments.
- Full lifecycle S/4HANA implementation experience in a complex organizational setting.
