PositionSummary:
The Director of Curriculum Training & Coaching leads theFamily Child Care Networks curriculum development and implementation. Informed by the NYCDOEsLetsPlay!Curriculum this position oversees the provision of professional learning and coaching to the Networks affiliated familychildcare providers.The Director supervises the provision of Practice-Based Coaching to advance affiliated providersknowledge and skills in meeting the individual needs of children enrolled in their home-based programs.In collaboration with the Networks Director and staff this position leads to professional learning for affiliated coordination with monitoring staff this position works closely with monitoring staff to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations by affiliated providers. This position supports family engagement in collaboration with program staff and other internal & external partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and supervision ofthe Networkscurriculum by affiliated providers through the provision of professional learning and coaching.
- Supervise Educational Specialists in the provision of Practice-Based Coaching to affiliated providers
- Advance thecapacityof affiliated providers by building on their strengths to enhance their planningand practices in supporting childrensoptimumdevelopment.
- Maximize the strengths of home-based programs and providers by advancing relationship-based practices that honor families andchildrens culture language and experiences.
- Build on the continuity of care of family childcare to support affiliated providers in responding sensitively to the needs of children informed by an understanding of brain development and trauma.
- Implement formal assessments of affiliated providers using standardized tools to support ongoing improvement plans and coaching.
- Use data to inform coaching curriculum and professional development to target specific areas in need of development.
- Use child outcome data to inform planning professional learning and coaching to support strong child outcomes in collaboration with affiliated providers.
- Collaborate with the team in designing and implementing family engagement activities that connectthe program and the familys home through the continuity of learning opportunities athome.
- Support families and affiliated providers in meeting the needs of children with developmental delays or disabilities by providing direct support in navigating and interacting with special education providersmodifyinglesson plans to meet the individual needs of children andsupporting providers in responding to childrens needs.
- Support the implementation of family conferences transition planning and family meetings as needed to support affiliated providers to build positive relationships with families.
- ActivelymonitorTeaching Strategies Gold (TSG) Assessment system; support and train affiliated providers and staff in theutilizationof TSG system for supporting instruction assessment and planning.
- Collaborate with the program and senior staff in offering opportunities for parents and familymembers to be involved in the programs education and family services.
- Collaborate with the management team in implementingthe annualprogram self-assessment staff evaluations professional development and monitoring compliancewith the NYCDOEs Family ChildCare Policy Handbook and contract.
- Obtain required training tomaintaincompliance withthe NYCDOEs contract and policy handbook.
- Additionalduties as assigned by the Family Child Care Network Director and other senior management staff.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in early childhood parenting psychology or a related field with at least 7-10 years of experience working with families with children birth to five training & coaching teachers including family childcare providers and supervising staff.OR
- Masters degree in early childhood education with NYS Teacher Certification Birth2ndgrade with a minimum of three years of classroom experience with at least 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Strength-based leader with experience coaching and training teaching teams.
- Effective communication problem solving analyticalwritingand technical skills (must be comfortable with dailyutilizationof Microsoft Word Excel and related software).
- Knowledge of Family Child Care regulations and requirements
