Job Description
Responsibilities
The Environmental Safety Manager in Manhattan NYC NY supports specific project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented safety compliance requirements are met and enhance a culture of safety.
- Oversee all aspects of a commercial construction project ensuring OSHA compliance
- Conduct daily safety meetings
- Complete accident reports and conduct accident investigations
- Daily safety audits and inspections
- Operate and maintain air monitoring equipment
- Oversee all subcontractors and contractors
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety Environmental Science or a related field preferred
- OSHA 510 and/or 500 certification strongly preferred
- HAZWOPER 40-Hour certification required
- Proven experience in hazardous waste cleanup environmental remediation or similar field operations
- Direct hands-on use of air monitoring and gas detection equipment (e.g. PID gas meters)
- Strong working knowledge of construction and environmental safety standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)
