Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Business Development Director is to identify qualify develop cultivate and ultimately close opportunities for new business within the payments sector in the community banking space specifically focusing on issuer payment solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of payment processing subject matter including the intricacies of issuer and acquirer relationships compliance standards and emerging trends in the payments landscape. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to guide the development of tailored solutions that meet client needs and drive revenue growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Generates new business by achieving or exceeding annual quota with a specific emphasis on issuer payment solutions.
Manages and generates a strong pipeline through prospecting and collaboration with Sales and/or Marketing focusing on issuer payment opportunities.
Attends trade shows and industry events to represent the company and gather insights on issuer payment trends and innovations.
Leverages up-to-date industry knowledge particularly in issuer payment systems compliance and relevant marketing content to enhance CSIs value proposition and increase close ratios.
Stays abreast of industry trends related to issuer payments including regulatory changes and technological advancements to effectively engage prospects.
Collaborates with various groups including Marketing and Product Development to enhance the CSI brand awareness within the issuer payment sector and identify new revenue opportunities.
PRIMARY RESULTS ACCOUNTABLE FOR ACHIEVING
Meet or exceed annual quota.
Continuous pipeline development to support year-over-year improvement
Increase ongoing close percentages over time.
Accountable for annual recurring revenue and total contract value in an assigned geographic territory. Ongoing relationship with customers signed up as well as developing relationships with top accounts to identify additional revenue opportunities and references.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Certifications:
Education or job knowledge equivalent to a college or university undergraduate education.
Experience:
The minimum amount of relevant work and/or industry experience required to successfully perform the job is at least two (2) years.
Required Skills:
In-depth knowledge of payment processing including transaction flows compliance requirements and market trends.
Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively articulate the benefits of issuer payment solutions to clients.
Analytical skills to assess market opportunities and client needs related to issuer payment specific to the community banking space.
Leadership skills to mentor team members and guide cross-functional collaboration on issuer payment projects.
Networking skills to build relationships with key stakeholders in the payments ecosystem.
RELATIONSHIP BUILDING
This position requires regular contact both inside and outside the company at all organizational levels and involves considerable tact discretion persuasion and negotiation to obtain willing action and consent.
DECISION MAKING
The position requires frequent decision making and the ability to plan and perform unusual or difficult work with general operation methods/procedures.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
General Direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approach to assignments. Completed work is reviewed from a long-time perspective for desired results.
