Job Description

As a key member of our benefits team you will play a role in achieving a Better benefits experience for our active John Hancock colleagues and former colleagues. Were looking for someone who is forward thinking can solve complex problems and is able to comfortably work with our colleagues and their families where appropriate.

The US Benefits Program Consultant is a member of the Global Health and Wellbeing Team focused on US Benefits Operations and Vendor Management reporting to the Head of US Benefits. This role is responsible for US benefits program operations oversight and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with benefits administrator to ensure benefits information is reflected accurately and being administered correctly both throughout the year and in preparation for annual enrollment
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal departments to resolve any issues related to benefits administration promptly and efficiently.
  • Management of benefits vendor including: aiding in research and resolution of escalated member issues conducting weekly calls as necessary to manage vendor operations recommend plan changes or program enhancements based on organizational strategic goals
  • Manage benefits administration processes identify opportunities for improvement and partner with stakeholders to implement automation/enhancements.
  • Participate in vendor calls on service delivery and report on designated deliverables. Coordinate with outsourced benefits administration vendor to ensure benefits data is managed accurately.
  • Support program compliance vendor performance tracking audits and reporting
  • Ensure a favorable experience for our colleagues and plan participants
  • Play a key role in annual enrollment planning communications and execution
  • Manage and/ or perform ad-hoc benefits projects on behalf of the Global Benefits and Wellbeing Team as necessary
  • Collaborate with internal business partners including Finance Payroll HR Partners Employee Relations etc.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience with US benefits administration
  • Proven vendor management and relationship building skills

Required:

  • Proven project management experience
  • Experience with complex HRIS payroll and vendor integrations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications

Preferred:

  • Experience leading benefits operations
  • Experience in large multi-state organizations
  • Knowledge of benefits compliance

Salary range is expected to be between

$71550.00 USD - $119250.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training.
