SUMMARY
Under the direction of the school principal this position is responsible for planning and delivering instructional programs in band strings and guitar that support students musical intellectual social and emotional development. The teacher creates a safe and inclusive learning environment monitors student progress develops selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students and communicates regularly with parents staff and the school community. The position includes after-school responsibilities. Teachers are expected to be available to students and parents for education-related matters outside of instructional hours when required or requested under reasonable terms.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Significant standing walking moving climbing carrying bending kneeling crawling reaching handling pushing and pulling. The teaching environment requires light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently or to move objects; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for color perception preparing and analyzing written or computer data operation of machines determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work and observing general surroundings and activities. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and work year are determined by the negotiated agreement subject to the needs of the District.
Verification of identity and United States work authorizationmust becompleted before employment commences. The successful candidate for thispositionmust complete a fingerprinted background check with the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Employment is contingent upon clearance of the background check.
