INVESTIGATION PRACTICE SUPERVISOR

Still She Rises Inc. (SSR) provides free legal representation to pregnant women women with children or women who are child caregivers and have been brought into the criminal legal and family policing systems. Position
Still She Rises Investigation Practice Supervisor helps to ensure the overall success of the Investigation Practice by overseeing and managing the work of staff. The Practice Supervisor is a servant-leader who is readily and regularly accessible for the mentorship of investigators. They are responsible for reviewing referrals for investigation assigning work providing guidance to investigators and resolving/consulting on high-level client and other operational matters. The Practice Supervisor is also responsible for communicating implementing and reinforcing organizational policies and procedures and facilitating both practice-specific and office wide trainings.
The Investigation Practice Supervisor works under direct supervision of the Investigation Practice Leader and in collaboration with other leadership personnel. The Investigation Practice Supervisor may carry a reduced caseload to accommodate responsibilities (subject to organizational needs and practice capacity).
Responsibilities
Supervision of Investigation Practice Staff
- Supervise the day-to-day work of investigators including regular individual meetings monitoring caseloads help plan and strategize case and client investigation.
- Process leave requests address challenges resolve conflicts and check-in on overall staff wellbeing.
- Support staff professional development including providing regular feedback coaching staff in applying best practices.
Administrative
- Reviews and tracks referrals for Investigation distributes work assignments and monitors case investigation progress.
- Consults regularly with Practice Leader and takes on additional responsibilities and directed.
- Creates annual Individualized Professional Development Plans for practice staff conducts periodic performance evaluations and reviews.
Case Investigation (limited case load)
- Staffs client teams and performs case investigation/client mitigation as necessary. Including but not limited to collecting records; serving subpoenas; examining crime scenes; viewing evidence conducting interviews and producing memorandums digests and other applicable work product.
Inter-Practice Collaboration
- Consults regularly with other Practice Supervisors and Leaders to provide practice related updates brainstorm and plan group training identify patterns and issues that affect teams and clients establish goals and support other practice areas.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. (Equivalent experience training or certifications may substitute educational requirement)
- Experience in defense investigation or directly related experience.
- Experience and skills in training supervising and leading others.
- Ability and desire to mentor assess and develop others.
- Ability to delegate manage time and other resources
- Ability to recognize and troubleshoot issues conflicts and crisis situations
- Effective empathetic and culturally competent communication
- Ability to sit stand or walk for extended periods of time and complete light to moderate physical work (including lifting/moving objects)
- Valid drivers license & Proof of insurance access to a working vehicle
Preferred
- Knowledge of Court Systems and legal proceedings
- Knowledge of Ethical and Professional Rules of Conduct
- Knowledge of Attorney-Client Privilege and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to develop knowledge and expertise in multiple legal defense areas
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and services (Word Excel)
- Ability and desire to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
- Experience and/or interest in working with racially and socioeconomically oppressed communities
Compensation: $75000 annually medical dental vision life FSA and 401K with 4% employer contribution.
