About the Role
The purpose of the Psychologist role is to prioritise the safety and well-being of children and young people by providing high-quality assessment consultative and referral services to support the permanency goals of children and young people in out-of-home care. This role emphasises the use of a variety of clinical experiences across multiple areas including specific psychology frameworks and modalities such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Polyvagal Theory attachment theory and trauma-focused approaches.
The role is Queensland-wide where you will provide clinical knowledge and expertise to support young people on your caseload in out-of-home care through assessment specialist referral practice support and consultation using the CARE Model with specific emphasis on the principles of trauma-informed developmentally focused and competency-centred approaches. You will be involved in comprehensive case conceptualisation and intervention planning to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
This is a full-time maximum-term position for 7 months with a hybrid work arrangement which may require travel to service families and young people West and North Queensland. Applicants from this location are encouraged to apply.
