Job Description
- To undertake work in public parks schools playing fields landscaped areas and similar open spaces. Provision of high-quality grounds maintenance service and the achievement of its objectives through the optimum application of the allocated resources.
- General maintenance of allocated areas e.g. grass cutting hedge trimming and maintenance of sports areas in accordance with approved specification.
- Undertake basic setting out and marking of sports areas and upkeep of artificial/synthetic/natural pitches.
- Cleaning e.g. public buildings such as changing rooms and toilets parks playgrounds and open spaces.
- Application of pesticides in accordance with manufacturer s guidelines and current legislation.
- Work with minimal supervision and accept responsibility for the direction of the work of trainees and other employees assigned to them.
- Previous experience of Gardening/Grounds person duties
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and Safe Working Practices
- Familiarity with COSHH Regulations
- Experience working with Hand Tools Powered Vibrating Machinery and Light Plant
- Training on the use of machinery
- Working hours: 43 hours per week
- Full valid UK driving licence and sole use of a vehicle is essential
- Candidate is required to be fit and able to carry out grounds maintenance duties
Requirements
