Job Description
The Wellness Specialist under the direction of the Recreation Therapy Supervisor is responsible for providing patients who have a substance abuse and or dependence diagnosis or other co-occurring diagnosis a safe holistic organized yoga reiki and exercise program.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead patients through organized group yoga and exercises classes and/or reiki services.
- Instructs patients on safe effective exercise to promote well-being and healthy lifestyle.
- Visually assess patients to determine their level of ability.
- Assist patients to achieve precise alignment.
- Demonstrate practice and techniques.
- Transform energy during the warm-up build-up and cool-down stages.
- Motivate patients with words of encouragement.
- Connect with patients during yoga classes through fun intelligent sequencing.
- Utilize pool facilities to provide organized water aerobics.
- Conductselfin a professionalcourteous manner conducive Brookdales mission and vision.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
This is a part time position that will work Saturday Monday Wednesday Thursday 4 hours a day.

Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
- Current Yoga or Exercise Instructor certification preferred.
- Certification in Reiki preferred.
- Lifeguard certification preferred.
- Current CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
- Exhibits capacity to interact with patients family and Brookdale team members.
- Demonstrates familiarity and experience with yoga and exercise techniques.
- Has knowledge of and experience in the facilitation of group exercise programs.
