Extra Help/Trojan Works Student Workers serve in various roles across campus as Institutional Work-Study (IWS) student workers. Specific duties are designated by the department hiring manager to include but are not limited to customer service answering phones and clerical work. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. This position is a provisional appointment with UA Little Rock and is funded through a grant or contract. Annual position renewal is contingent upon continued grant funding and satisfactory job performance. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Students participating in the Admissions Ambassador program will have the opportunity to be a part of a close-knit group of students that are dedicated to being positive and authentic representations of UA Little Rock.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Degree-seeking UA Little Rock students enrolled in classes at the time of application;
  • Eligible to legally work 20 hours per week in the United States;
  • Must be ineligible for Federal Work-Study (FWS).

Daily campus tours are from 10:00 am-12:00 pm on Monday-Friday. Admissions Ambassadors must have availability to provide at least 1-2 campus tours per week.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with prospective students important dates and deadlines missing credentials and information regarding the enrollment process through means of email phone calls or text messages and in-person meetings;
  • Invite students to on- and off-campus recruiting events via text messaging and calling;
  • Participate in on- and off-campus recruiting events;
  • Assist students and visitors with information about UA Little Rock admissions requirements undergraduate programs of study and the onboarding process;
  • Provide campus tours to prospective students and their families;
  • Perform data entry;
  • Assist in customer service by answering phones;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read maps and give directions;
  • Knowledge of internet and conventional office technology tools these tools include e-mail internet search engines and software applications Word Excel and MS Access;
  • Superior communication skills oral and written are essential especially when responding to non-technical users of campus data;
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills;
  • The ability to operate a motor vehicle and hold a valid drivers license.
