The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is seeking an experienced Project Manager 3 to perform project management responsibilities for the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Deputy CIO (DCIO). The selected candidate will oversee special projects related to ITSD operations including but not limited to budgeting communications and process improvement initiatives. This role requires strong leadership cross-functional collaboration and a track record of managing high-priority IT initiatives within Texas state agencies.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee special ITSD-related projects ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timelines.
Support the CIO and DCIO in operational planning budgeting and communications.
Coordinate multiple overlapping projects balancing priorities effectively.
Engage with executive leadership board members division leadership and staff to ensure successful project outcomes.
Drive process improvement efforts across ITSD functions.
Ensure compliance with applicable State of Texas standards policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
8 years Overseeing IT projects and operations at a Texas state agency.
5 years Budgeting and financial management experience in a Texas state agency.
5 years Experience with Texas DIR Data Center Services (DCS) program operations.
5 years Managing multiple projects with overlapping priorities at a Texas state agency.
5 years Communicating effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels including executive leadership.
5 years Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
Preferred:
5 years Experience as a Chief Information Officer or similar leadership role within a Texas state agency.
Terms of Service
Start Date: 09/01/2025
End Date: 08/31/2026
Estimated Hours: Up to 1040 hours (Part-time)
Hybrid role remote with occasional onsite meetings in Austin TX.
May require occasional work outside normal business hours (evenings weekends holidays).
