Under limited supervision from the Payroll Sr. Manager the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the administration of the companys time and attendance and payroll systems. Research payroll issues and interpret HR Policies and procedures as appropriate. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of the payroll and related client service including recordkeeping and reporting. This position provides accounting and project management support to all locations.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the accuracy of the payroll records by auditing for status changes address changes tax withholdings PTO accruals new hire STD and terminationsall while processing the Caribbean Payrolls.
- Ensure all timesheets are approved and signed off prior to running the export from Workforce Management (WFM) to ActivPayroll.
- Reviews payroll reports for all pay groups and ensures that corrections are made prior to approving and the release of payroll.
- Audits and balances gross to net calculation using advanced EXCEL formulas for all pay groups.
- Assist with year-end activities for the Caribbean pay groups.
- Researches calculates and coordinates with the employee supervisor and HR on manual payments and overpayment.
- Prepares and maintains related payroll records and reports.
- Document Standard Operating Procedures as well as updating on a regular basis to ensure we remain compliant.
- Cross-trains designated back-up payroll Specialist.
- Researches and resolves problems perform scheduled activities and liaison with service providers.
- Prepares and maintains standard and ad hoc reports queries and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity.
- Strong interpersonal analytical problem-solving planning verbal and written communication skills.
- Ensures internal control for the accurate disbursements of wages and other payments in accordance with internal policies and procedures and federal regulations.
- Comply with all SOX (internal and external) audits and implement regulation changes that affect the payroll set-ups.

Qualifications :
- High School Diploma Required and
- Associates Degree Preferred
- 3 years Experience working with time and attendance payroll and HRMS systems. Required
- UKG Pro/Workforce Management experience. Preferred
- Must have experience with database applications and strong EXCEL skills Required
- Full knowledge of payroll and accounting practices and principles. Required
- Knowledge of Caribbean employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility. Required
- Caribbean payroll experience Required
- Full knowledge of Caribbean Payroll practices and principles.
- Must be a team player who is also capable of working independently.
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with all levels of employees.
- Strong Interpersonal skills
- Exhibits excellent customer service.
- Must be able to work with highly sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Skills must include Microsoft Office applications.
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) Preferred or
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Preferred
