Currently Hiring an experienced Night Support Worker for their Dublin Operation. Full time we are open to flexible working arrangements
Permanent Contract. A work permit will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- To work together with each service user to gain their trust and respect while tactfully managing difficult or upsetting situations.
- In the privacy of their own rooms high support needs residents can receive assistance with incontinence management waking up in the morning washing dressing and changing their clothes.
- Keep an eye out for pressure points and know what precautions to take to avoid them.
- Adjust assistance levels as necessary to meet the requirements of specific individuals while promoting their highest possible degree of independence.
- Use proven infection control techniques to work efficiently to stop cross-infection.
- help to keep the inhabitants surroundings clean and safe.
- Assist residents with their laundry especially those who struggle with incontinence.
- When it is feasible encourage and support people in taking an active role in keeping their bedrooms tidy. Make sure the residents dietary requirements are satisfied. When necessary help with the residents meals. Encourage and support residents with high support care requirements to eat a well-balanced diet.
- Make sure food is stored safely and hygienically when it is acceptable.
- As instructed by the nurse provide assistance and step in to help the residents with their nutrition and hydration.
- Communicate with the shift coordinator as needed and when present take part completely in handovers.
- Connect with on-site nurses every day as needed particularly when it comes to resident care.
- As needed bring up any health concerns or issues with the LMT shift coordinator and nurse.
Requirements
- Possess a degree in social care that is pertinent to the field OR have worked in homelessness or a related field for at least a year preferably in a residential setting.
- Have a high level of education. Being eligible for manual handling would be fantastic.
- Knowledge of the principles of risk management.
