Rolls-Royce has an excellent opportunity for a Project Delivery Manager to join our Submarines Business in Derby to support the delivery of our In-Service UK Nuclear Submarine fleet. This role sits within the Services Delivery Business Unit; therefore the successful candidate will need to have a strong customer management focus a proven track record in project delivery and the ability to operate in a complex environment within the Submarines enterprise.
What you will be doing:
This vacancy is to lead the Project Management Team within the Service Implementation Design and Delivery Team and will be responsible for;
Responsibilities
- Youll be responsible for maintaining and operating a rigorous project controls system including risk and opportunity management scheduling change control earned value management and cost control; ensuring these processes are compliant with organisational and contractual requirements.
- Delivering Tooling and Support Equipment across the submarines business and submarine enterprise.
- Working with Customers Programmes Engineering Managers and Supply Chain teams in the ongoing development and commitment of department forward load.
- Leading on contract/project/control account reviews by supporting the production of management reports. This will be for both internal and external reviews and cover all aspects of Programmes progress against plan resource risk and deliverables.
- Leading agreed elements of the Rolls-Royce Submarines and Services business strategy.

- You will possess a degree in a relevant engineering or business discipline or have an equivalent level of continuous professional development and experience.
- You will have Project Management experience showing an understanding of the project lifecycle risk management cost management planning and programming. Including a working knowledge of SAP and P6 in relation to project activities is desirable
- The role will involve dealing with customers and stakeholders at all levels and excellent communication skills are therefore a prerequisite.
- Proven ability to deliver complex engineering programmes to Cost Quality and Time commitments.
- You will have the ability to work with minimum supervision in order to deliver results and to work in ambiguous situations whilst working to tight timescales and achieving quality outputs on time.
- It would be desirable to have APMP or PRINCE 2 qualifications.
