Job Description

The Director of Strategic Alignment provides high-level leadership and cross-functional coordination reporting to the Deputy Chief of School Leadership and Special Populations. This role ensures coherence and timely execution of strategic initiatives across all departments within the School Leadership division. Serving as a key integrator the Director drives alignment among departments that support instructional efforts at campuses leads the design and implementation of the districts middle school redesign initiative and supports effective execution of the District Support Initiative (DSI) school models. Additionally the Director collaborates with the Leader Excellence Advancement & Development (LEAD) department to co-develop content for new administrator academies. This position requiresexceptional project management skills systems thinking and a strong understanding of leadership development and instructional improvement in a large urban school district.

  • Provide high-level leadership in managing high-impact projects initiatives and key deliverables across School Leadership and Special Populations to ensure strategic alignment and timely execution.
  • Drive cross-departmental coordination across principal supervision school improvement multilingual and special education services to integrate efforts and elevate campus support systems.
  • Establish and manage systems to monitor departmental performance assess progress against strategic goals and proactively address risks or barriers in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Develop high-stakes communications including cabinet briefings board updates strategic reports and executive summaries that inform decision-making at the highest levels.
  • Design and lead the implementation of systems that track accountability for deliverables compliance milestones and school improvement efforts aligned to district-wide objectives.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Chiefs Deputy Chiefs and Departmental Directors by consolidating prioritizing and advancing key actions requiring senior leadership engagement.
  • Facilitate coherence and alignment among all instructional support departments ensuring consistent communication issue escalation and streamlined campus-facing services.
  • Partner with the LEAD department to co-develop and implement administrator development programs ensuring alignment with district leadership competencies and succession planning.
  • Lead the development and implementation of high-leverage initiatives such as the ARD Leadership Model for administrators and the middle school redesign ensuring cross-functional coordination and measurable outcomes.
  • Direct the planning and execution of strategic retreats leadership convenings and weekly tactical sessions to monitor progress support cross-team collaboration and drive continuous improvement.
