Job Description

The Training and Staff Wellness Manager plays a key role in supporting the professional development and well-being of CRP/HYS team members as well as facilitating training opportunities for external community partners. This position will directly supervise program staff and is responsible for designing implementing and evaluating training programs that enhance skills knowledge and engagement while also developing initiatives that promote a culture of wellness resilience and work-life balance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design facilitation and staff wellness programs with a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelors Degree in Education Organizational Design Administration Social Services or a related field.
  • Four years of experience in adult training facilitation of adult trainings and/or staff development.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS

  • Driver qualifications are required for this position. Valid driver license insured vehicle available for use on the job and a satisfactory drive record for the previous three years are required.
  • Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (or equivalent) is required within first 30 days of hire.
  • Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Possess intermediate to advanced computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook database software online tools video conference platforms and learning management system (LMS) platforms.

  • Must possess excellent planning organization and time management skills.

  • Ability to effectively lead and manage multiple projects while meeting critical deadlines.

  • Possesses highly effective interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups orally and in writing.

  • Ability to work effectively with a team using direct communication respect creativity and emotional intelligence.

  • Advanced presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and concepts.

  • Knowledge of effective wellness practices in the workplace.

  • Experience in planning evaluating and improving health or wellness programs is highly valued.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

  • Design implement and oversee comprehensive learning programs that support the strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Create training materials workshops e-learning modules and other resources to address skill gaps.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to produce accurate relevant and engaging learning content.
  • Conduct assessments of training needs using surveys interviews and performance data analytics.
  • Lead and/or facilitate interactive training sessions workshops and webinars for staff across all levels.
  • Coordinate with third-party providers or consultants to deliver specialized learning opportunities when necessary.
  • Utilize learning management systems (LMS) to track manage and report on employee participation and training compliance.
  • Implements wellness initiatives that support employees mental emotional and physical well-being.
  • Collaborates with leadership to integrate wellness strategies into organizational policies and culture.
  • Stays up to date with best practices in adult learning organizational development and staff wellness.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training and wellness initiatives through feedback and performance metrics.
  • Organizes wellness workshops mindfulness sessions and other staff engagement activities.
  • Prepares quality written reports and complies with agency quarterly and annual reports as required by the program agency and external funding sources.
  • Model full compliance with MWVCAA Safety Policy.
  • Participates in community outreach and engagement with local organizations groups and community members as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintains appropriate boundaries with clients and coworkers at all times.
  • May be assigned other responsibilities that further program goals and objectives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises approximately one to five employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities for this position include interviewing hiring and training employees as well as planning assigning and directing their work and appraising their performance. The Training and Wellness Manager is also responsible for rewarding and disciplining direct reports when necessary and also addressing their complaints.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for handling office equipment.
  • Occasional driving in all weather conditions to community and agency sites in Polk and Marion counties.
  • Able to remain calm and focused during interactions with escalated clients and staff.
  • Able to positively respond and diplomatically handle the mental pressures of frequent demands for attention time and work tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly works indoor and outdoor in cold weather heat and other extreme climate events.
  • Close quarters often with a public client population experiencing homelessness substance use disorders and/or severe and persistent mental illness and/or unpredictable behavior.
  • Frequent interruptions and demands; frequent noise.
  • Occasional remote work as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally work outside of normal business hours including nights weekends and holidays.
