Position Overview
We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP)Section of Surgical Oncology to support the. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in oncology and surgical specialties.
Responsibilities Include:
Patient population: Providing care for patients with malignant and complex conditions of the gastrointestinal tractskinsoft tissues (including liver pancreas gallbladder and stomach) and (including melanoma and sarcoma)
Inpatient care:
First-assistant in the OR (robot laparoscopic open cases).
Rounding on patients in the acute post-operative phase who are admitted to the hospital for surgical oncology and colorectal surgery
Post-operative wound care and pain management
Timely collaboration with consulting physicians
Coordinating discharges from the hospital
Evaluation of new consults.
Outpatient Care: evaluates new and existing patients in collaboration with staff physicians as well as a multidisciplinary team completes outpatient documentation in a timely fashion and performs clinic procedures as applicable.
Hours: Monday Friday
Shared night and weekend call: home call for service during the week and weekend call with inpatient rounding and OR coverage for emergency cases.

National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
