The Department of Economic Security Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Quality Assurance Investigate Nurse. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities and their families services and supports that are flexible high quality and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Receive research document and resolve quality of care issues utilizing standardized processes via standardized processes. Complete thorough timely and member-centric investigations. Make appropriate referrals to oversight entities and law enforcement.
Conducts tracking and trending of member service site provider and Division concerns. Ensure appropriate follow-up and corrective actions are established and monitored through resolution. Appropriately elevate cases and/or trend concerns to Triage Nurse Supervisor.
Ensure quality of care to Division members; ensuring dignity and respect with a focus on their unique situations and special health care needs. Promote member-centric care and timely communication to members/families. Address all identified needs/concerns and ensure appropriate care coordination.
Maintain all necessary documentation to support case work. Request appropriate documentation for case reviews and ensure maintenance of comprehensive case records to support allegation review and substantiation level.
Participate in operational reviews technical assistance and focused studies/reviews to ensure compliance with contract and policy requirements. Ensure all work is completed in alignment with Division and AHCCCS policies to promote an audit-ready unit.

Knowledge of:

Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) Department of Health Services (DHS) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations
Health care issues and standards of care for vulnerable populations including developmentally disabled and/or those receiving long term care services
Quality management and utilization review processes
Professional report and technical writing principles
General laws and reporting regulations for abuse and neglect of vulnerable populations
Skills In :
Technological skills including use of databases Microsoft Office products email and electronic referral and verification sources.
Producing professional technical reports letters and other items.
Analyze problems and develop effective plans for corrective action.
Strong interpersonal skills in order to effectively relate to AHCCCS members their families and Agency stakeholders.
Nursing processes including assessment monitoring and evaluation.
Research and analysis and verbal written communication
Ability To:
Interpret rules laws and policies and apply to unique case circumstances.
Organize prioritize and track files and information from various sources.
Work independently and with a variety of internal and external customers. To think critically organize workflow and modify existing processes with minimal supervision
Accommodate changing requirements or standards.
Work in a fast-paced environment.

Required at time of appointment: possession of a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Arizona.
Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-2758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.
Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Department of Child Safety Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.
Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the Agencys ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
