The Physiotherapist is responsible for:
Patient Assessment and intervention including recommendations for follow-up as required i.e. Home Care Program community or rehabilitation resources
Expert Physiotherapy resource for staff students and other health care providers
Contributor/active member of the multi-professional health care team in Oncology
Participation in appropriate committees pertaining to the operation of the Oncology Unit
Active participation in discipline-specific activities of Physiotherapy including the provision of clinical and educational in-services within Physiotherapy Services
Supervision of Physiotherapy students on a regular basis
Ongoing involvement in research activities and use of outcome measures related to the Patient Services Unit and the client population served
Qualifications/Skills
Must possess MScPT or equivalent with Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario in good standing
Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
One to two years of general acute care physiotherapy experience required; oncology preferred
Demonstrated well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
Established well-developed time management prioritization and organizational skills
Member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred
