TITLE: HOUSEKEEPER

SALARY:$17 to $22 per hour
JOB SUMMARY:
Members ofour Housekeeping Team work together to guarantee our guests clean spaces whichwill exceed their expectations. Working alone or with a partner eachHousekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness of guest rooms hallwaysactivity areas and public spaces on the property. Major responsibilitiesinclude servicing accommodations according to property procedures stockinghousekeeping carts replacing bed linens and supplying guest roomamenities. This position requires strong attention to detail and theability to work without constant direct supervision.
SUMMARYOF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintaina neat and professional appearance with a properly cleaned uniform.
Usingprovided supplies efficiently and effectively clean and maintain guest roomsand public spaces. This includes but is not limited to making bedschanging bed linens cleaning bathrooms supplying amenities dustingvacuuming mopping sweeping washing windows replacing light bulbs foldinglinens as well as removing dirty linens towels garbage and recycling allwith attention to detail and to the standards set by property management.
Mustwork with a variety of cleaning chemicals following appropriate directions andin accordance with OSHA and State of Maine regulations.
Mustbe able to push cleaning cart with supplies and equipment on both inside andoutside surfaces. Work with colleagues to keep storage areas cleaned andsupplied.
Greetguests warmly and politely using discretion to avoid disturbing guests inrooms or public spaces. Understand how everything operates in guest rooms(climate control fans lighting etc) and be able to explain operation to ourguests.
Responsiblefor security of any room or supply closet keys as well as for respecting thepersonal property and privacy of guests while working in guest rooms.
Beprepared to answer basic questions about the property activities etc. orknow where to refer guests for answers.
Workwith other members of the Housekeeping Team to ensure that the guests need arecontinually met. Make front desk staff aware of any special needsso that notes can be made for future visits.
Handleand communicate guest requests special needs guest room or public spacemaintenance issues and guest complaints in a professional manner.
Labeland submit all lost and found items according to property procedures.
Understandpersonal sanitation the use of personal protective equipment and how to handleunsanitary linens bodily fluids etc. Be aware of ways to preventpersonal injury from improper reaching lifting stretching and carrying.
Knowwho to notify in case of broken equipment or unsafe/unsanitary conditions.
Manuallyhandle/lift/carry product up to 60 pounds between knee and shoulders.
Musthave bilateral fine manipulation of both hands which may be repetitive forentire shift.
Mustbe vertically mobile working in limited space for entire shift.
Protectthe assets of this property and 337 Rockport LLC.
MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS:
Mustbe eligible to work in the United States of America.
Mustbe at least 18 years of age.
Abilityto communicate in English both orally and written with guests and employeessome of whom will require high levels of patience tact and diplomacy.
Abilityto work as a part of a team.
Abilityto understand verbal directions labels on chemicals and other workplacesafety signage.
Activelistening and observation skills.
Abilityto work under pressure and deal with deadlines and stressful situations duringbusy periods.
ABILITIESREQUIRED:
Frequentwalking bending balancing stooping reaching pushing lifting manualdexterity and repetitive motions. May require the ability to work onuneven outdoor surfaces move and arrange furniture and turn mattresses.
Frequentstair climbing.
Workingin extreme temperatures and conditions both indoors and out.
Schedulevaries according to operational needs; may include early mornings eveningsweekends holidays rotating and split-shifts.
Frequenthand-washing.
Hazardsinclude but are not limited to lifting injuries exposure to unsanitarymaterials slips and tripping.
