Chewys next decade of AI innovation begins with a single trusted source of truth. Today our data lives in several warehouses; tomorrow it must liveand breathein one: Snowflake. Your directive is to finish that voyage lay the rails for real-time and generative AI and make data you can bet the company on an everyday reality for engineers analysts and AI agents.
What you will do:
Think of it as building Manhattans bedrock before the skyscrapers go up. You will inherit a current Snowflake estate that is functional but still split with legacy platforms. Your first charter is to unify itschema pipelines SLAs access patternsso every system that feeds a model powers a decision or personalizes a pets experience pulls from the same well. From there you will design the governance observability and enablement tooling that let hundreds of product squads move fast without breaking provenance or trust.
Along the way you will:
- Shepherd the remaining migrations retiring Vertica once and for all
- Embed dbt-driven transformation lineage and testing as part of the developer experience
- Stand-up data-quality and cost-visibility metrics and dashboards
- Translate platform metrics into narratives the CEO and frontline FC associates both understand
- Champion a culture where self-service is assumed tribal data silos are history and AI experimentation is friction-free

You have already tamed petabytes at consumer-speed scale led a company through a warehouse migration or two and emerged with scars and a playbook. You think of Snowflake dbt Airflow and the modern metadata stack as table stakes not buzzwords. You can swap war stories with principal engineers in the morning then explain the return on investment of lineage to the audit committee after lunch. Most of all you believe great data plumbing is the highest leverage investment a company can make when AI is the destination.
