This position conducts routine recurring data quality audits and training with the criminal records unit and provides higher-level technical expertise to analyze and resolve complex unusual or controversial record issues. The position is the unit liaison with programming staff to identify address and resolve technical issues impacting workflows and is the lead worker/supervisor for the criminal records unit.

This position is located in East Anchorage in the Department of Public Safetys (DPS) Headquarters building at 5700 East Tudor Road which includes the following: the Chugach Mountains providing the backdrop for the building ample parking public transportation drop points located directly in front of the building and paved trails adjacent to the building. Individual office space for this position is co-located with other criminal records unit staff to encourage team building and collaborative efforts.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Please ensure that these competencies are clearly reflected in the work experience sections of the application:
A bachelors degree from an accredited college.
OR
An associates degree from an accredited college in Criminal Justice Paralegal Studies Justice or a closely related field.
OR
Two years of advanced paraprofessional experience in support of professional law enforcement staff in the development analysis and implementation of a law enforcement public safety or criminal justice program. The required experience includes work such as Criminal Justice Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.
OR
Four years of advanced or supervisory paraprofessional or technical experience in support of criminal justice staff involving data or evidence collection processing analysis and reporting. The required experience includes work such as Criminal Justice Technician 1 Emergency Services Dispatcher with the Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Technician Paralegal or Law Office Assistant 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.
