Summary:
The Parts Counterperson acts as the principal contact between the parts department and the service department for the sale of parts and accessories; and sells parts to all available customers over the counter through the shop or on the phone.
Essential Duties: include the following:
- Works towards guaranteeing ultimate customer service and satisfaction
- Assist all customers (internal and external) in selecting required parts in a friendly professional and efficient manner. Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
- Delivers and/or supplies parts for the service techs in a fast and courteous manner.
- Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
- Answer phone calls providing price quotes and other information
- Strives to meet department goals and objectives
- Pulls and fills orders from stock.
- Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
- Write purchase orders. Orders parts and gets parts from outside suppliers as needed with Parts or Service Managers approval.
- Exhibits a sufficient level of proficiency in the use of EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog) and inventory systems according to dealership standards.
- Determines availability of parts and submits emergency orders for out-of-stock parts.
