We currently have an opening for anEnterprise Collaboration Services Engineer

The position is designated Statutory Exempt and is exempt from the State Human Resources Act.

This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agencys remote work program but does require weekly onsite work

This position will be part of the Enterprise Collaboration Services Tier 3 group of theDITService Delivery division. Primary duties of this position will be to serve as a lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) and product specialist for Microsoft 365 services and related collaboration tools. This includes understanding the Microsoft 365 roadmap and finding solutions to align with the new features or technologies implemented by Microsoft within the NC State policies and security guidelines. Additionally this position will provide consulting to other State Microsoft 365 Tenants.Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Oversees Microsoft 365 service enablement and adoption of Microsoft 365 core services across various state agencies.
  • Collaborates with state agencies to understand business needs and aligns Microsoft 365 solutions accordingly.
    • Communicates the value and benefits of Microsoft 365 services in non-technical language.
  • Plans and ensures the implementation of the applications required for successful deployment of Collaboration services.
  • Measures and reports on adoption metrics and user satisfaction.
  • Creates and maintains the processes for configuration and releases management to support Microsoft 365 Collaboration
  • Senior level support and escalation for all service support and service delivery issues in Enterprise Collaboration Services.
  • Monitors all Collaboration Services management systems.
  • Works in resolving highly complex technical issues.
  • Serves as escalation and communication lead for customer issues.
  • Works closely with other Service Owners and Product Specialist under the direction of the Service owner to develop and maintain a strategic roadmap aligned with the long-term business needs of NCDIT customers in the area of Collaboration Services
  • Reviews on a regular and periodic basis the strategic roadmap against industry trends and with the NCDIT customer base to ensure continued alignment or to identify mid-course corrections which may be necessary.
  • Provides the day-to-day role in vendor relationship management with the key suppliers that provide technology and/or services in support of the services.
  • Enablement and Training:
    • Develops and delivers comprehensive training programs to enable end-users and agency administrators.
    • Develops clear and concise communications to update agency stakeholders on new features changes and best practices.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development
OR
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development
OR
High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma and eight years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
