Play a key role in advancing the Churchs mission of evangelisation with a focus on young people women and formation in a position with the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference.
Full-time ongoing 37.5 hours per week
The Role
The Officer supports the Director of the National Centre for Evangelisation in delivering the mandate of the Bishops Commission for Evangelisation Laity & Ministry. You will be responsible for:
Leading and contributing to initiatives that promote encounter discipleship and mission.
Supporting lay participation youth engagement participation of women and formation across diverse Australian contexts including research.
Resourcing the formation of co-responsible laity to live out their baptismal vocation in the world.
Support the Centres responsibilities for national and international youth events (i.e. World Youth Day).
Collaborating with Church organisations and movements nationally to strengthen evangelisation efforts.
Using contemporary digital tools and media to promote the Catholic faith in a theologically sound and pastorally sensitive manner.
Assisting with administrative responsibilities including website and social media management reporting and event coordination.
About You
A tertiary qualification in Theology Pastoral Studies Religious Education or a related discipline.
A minimum of five years senior leadership experience in evangelisation.
Strong understanding of Church structures and ministries in Australia.
Experience in project and event management including large-scale gatherings.
Excellent communication skills including digital and interpersonal.
Ability to network effectively at local national and international levels.
Commitment to Catholic Social Teaching and Gospel values.
Experience using media and technology for faith outreach is highly regarded.
