Position Overview The Print Operator is responsible for the operation and oversight of several types of digital printing machines transfer presses quality of color and print consistent with approved graphic files. Essential Job Functions - Run up to two printers with different size and color capacities.
- Identify a variety of ink products
- Ability to check and load ink into printer
- Make quick corrections to avoid expensive losses of paper and ink.
- Check and scale file images sizes
- Ability to transfer graphic files from RIP stations to digital printing machines
- Transfer files blend colors and proof images electronically using digital presses
- Read/verify work order and proofs (PPSP GP) received from the PrePress department
- Inspect and examine printed products for print clarity color accuracy conformance to specifications and external defects.
- Load position and adjust unprinted materials on holding fixtures or in equipment loading and feeding mechanisms.
- Remove printed materials from presses using hand trucks electric lifts or hoists and transport them to drying storage or finishing areas.
- Set and adjust speed temperature ink flow positions and pressure tolerances of equipment.
- Repair maintain and adjust equipment.
- Requisition supplies materials and equipment and receive stock when it arrives.
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications - Ability to multi-task various projects with high level of detail
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required able to communicate effectively
- Positive attitude and good work ethics
- Must pass a drug test
Education and Experience - High School Diploma or GED
- Proficient in Caldera and Fiery programs
- Two years relevant experience in print operations focused on the use of digital printing machines both large and small format.
Physical Demands - Requires standing walking or bending for entire shift.
- Ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Work Conditions - Must be able to work extended hours with little advance notice to meet project deadlines.
- Must be capable of completing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to fumes airborne particles dust or dirt.
