AMP Council Facilitatorwhos equal parts mentor advocate organizer and champion.
The Achieving Maximum Potential (AMP) program is Iowas statewide foster care youth council dedicated to empowering youth ages 13 to 22 who have experienced foster care or out-of-home placements. AMP is youth-led and focuses on developing leadership skills life skills and community engagement. Through monthly council meetings service projects and advocacy opportunities AMP members gain the tools and support they need to successfully transition to adulthood.

Being an AMP Council Facilitatormeans being part of a supportive community that fosters growth connection and positive change. Youll empower youth by leading council meetings fostering leadership skills connecting them with community resources and advocating on their behalfhelping them prepare for a successful future beyond the foster care system. As an AMP Council Facilitator you will:
- Teach skills and create opportunities for youth to build leadership abilities engage in their communities and invest in local initiatives.
- Connect AMP Youth Council participants with service-learning and volunteer opportunities that benefit the community other foster youth and local non-profits.
- Develop positive supportive relationships with youth offering guidance as they prepare to transition successfully into life beyond the foster care system.
- Plan and facilitate two AMP Foster Care Youth Council meetings each month to meet project objectives.
- Provide information resources and skill-building activities during meetings to address youth needs in education career planning and accessing community resources.
- Represent and advocate on behalf of AMP youth and Foster Care Youth Councils at public speaking engagements.
- Build and maintain strong communication with DHS social workers foster parents and community leaders to expand and strengthen the local Foster Care Youth Council.
- Maintain accurate records and reports including attendance speaking engagements appearances and data collection.
- Manage and update the Local Councils section of the Partnership for Iowa Foster Care Youth Council website and Facebook page.
