Job Description

Working/Functional Title

Basic Needs Coordinator

Position Summary

The Basic Needs Coordinator serves as the lead for MSUs basic needs support services and oversees operations at the MSU Union Self-Shop site. This position supervises student staff coordinates site logistics and ensures a welcoming environment while also managing the sites software system supporting budget oversight and leading grant-writing efforts to sustain and expand programming.

The coordinator develops outreach and education initiatives to connect students with food housing transportation public benefits and other basic needs resources on campus and in the community. This position also builds and maintains partnerships with campus and community stakeholders contributing to strategic initiatives within University Health and Wellbeing.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work such as a masters in social work public health student affairs nonprofit management or a related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in student services outreach or basic needs coordination;; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
