PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (Any one position may not include all of the listed duties nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions within this classification.): cleaning and related activities (shovel plow & sand) such as removing snow or debris from walkways driveways parking areas and stairways as needed using hand-operated tools or small power equipment. May be required outside normal working hours i.e. weekends holidays daytime evenings in meetings workshops trainings and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform other employees with job-related issues per the Facilities Director or the Evening Supervisor. Responds to reports and removes any safety hazards; reports and repairs damage to school site property; reports unauthorized visitors; secures gates doors windows and grounds; sets alarm system; responds to emergency cleanups such as spills and clogged major repairs needed promptly to the supervisor. cleans buffs and applies floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors vacuum and shampoo general cleaning on an as-needed basis. the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition by cutting grass raking pruning weeding trimming shrubs picking up trash instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed. furniture equipment supplies and tools as required by school and/or other activities. safety meetings and other related meetings. recycling immediately any damage or repairs needed to school property including buildings vehicles and equipment to the Shift Supervisor and/or Director of Facilities. operates all vehicles and other job-related equipment. with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash rubbish and be able to lift 50 lbs. be required to run errands to conduct school business; pick up or delivery of supplies & materials equipment or to fulfill postal duties as may be assigned by the Shift Supervisor Director of Facilities or ENVIRONMENT:Duties will be performed inside the school buildings on the grounds of the campus and off-site (as needed). The individual may be exposed to chemicals that are used in daily custodial and maintenance responsibilities. The individual may be exposed to various hazards at worksites or while driving. Maybe required to walk and stand for long periods of OF EMPLOYMENT:This is a 12-month position 40 hours per week. Salary as per the Maintenance and Custodial Workers Agreement. Fringe benefits will be in accordance with the District Benefits Policy for Custodian/Maintenance :Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the School Committee Policy in regard to support staff.
