Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Birmingham to assist with the appointment of a Peripatetic Team Manager on a 2-month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 23.62 - 31.03 per hour

Summary:

Birmingham Childrens Trust is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Peripatetic Team Manager to provide dynamic leadership and management across various social work teams within Childrens Services. This pivotal role requires a qualified social worker with a proven track record in managing complex teams particularly those focused on children in care and care proceedings. You will be expected to seamlessly integrate into different teams providing stability guidance and expertise wherever needed ensuring continuity of service and driving positive outcomes for children and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide robust and effective leadership and management to social work teams including those specializing in Children in Care (CiC) and Care Proceedings on a peripatetic basis as required by the service.
  • Oversee and manage complex caseloads ensuring statutory requirements policies and procedures are adhered to in all aspects of social work practice.
  • Ensure timely and effective progression of care proceedings working closely with legal teams families and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of Childrens Services participating in working groups and initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery and outcomes.
  • Respond flexibly to the needs of the service adapting to different team dynamics and priorities with professionalism and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g. Degree in Social Work DipSW CQSW).

Essentials:

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation statutory guidance and best practice frameworks pertaining to childrens social care.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant and demonstrable post-qualifying experience in childrens social work.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
