Are you ready to take the helm of 665 miles of state-owned railway The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is searching for the next talented professional to oversee the inspection design maintenance and construction of Michigans state-owned rail bridges and culverts. What Youll Be Doing:

  • Evaluating the annual railroad bridge inspection reports and load rating analyses.
  • Ensuring the MDOT Railroad Bridge Management Plan complies with federal regulations and safety standards.
  • Developing scopes of work and estimating budgets for key rail projects.
  • Coordinating across MDOT regions local governments consultants and railroad personnel to deliver impactful infrastructure solutions.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering.

Experience
Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Transportation Engineer including two years equivalent to a Transportation Engineer P11 or one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 12 or Transportation Engineer Licensed 12.
