STUDENT SUCCESS LIBRARIAN
The Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) is seeking a creative and collaborative Student Success Librarian to lead our instruction and outreach efforts in a vibrant academic and artistic community. This role is perfect for someone who wants to champion information literacy foster student success and connect with a diverse student bodyincluding first-year international first-generation and traditionally underserved students.
Reporting to the Library Director the Student Success Librarian plays a key role in shaping and promoting the librarys instructional programs. Youll serve as the primary contact for library instruction and outreach services collaborate with faculty and academic support staff to embed information literacy into the curriculum and develop engaging learning experiences that support both in-person and asynchronous instruction. Your work will include developing research guides tutorials instructional videos and assessments that help students grow as critical thinkers and effective researchers.
Youll also take a hands-on role in supporting students directlythrough one-on-one consultations onboarding programs and orientation activities. Additionally youll supervise our Access and Circulation Library Assistant and a team of student workers while also managing the librarys social media presence to help promote resources and services in fresh and engaging ways. Participation in reference services assessment initiatives library planning and campus committees will round out your responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will hold a Masters degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program and bring at least one year of professional experience preferably in an academic or art library setting. They should have a solid foundation in information literacy instruction and a working knowledge of ACRLs Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education. Strong communication teaching and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to create engaging learning materials and manage multiple projects effectively. Supervisory experience and comfort with training and mentoring students or staff are highly valued as is a strong commitment to equity diversity and inclusion in library services. Experience with integrated library systems electronic resources social media management and student engagement programming is a plus. A background in art or art history and familiarity with consortia library environments are also desirable.

Compensation
This is a full-time exempt is commensurate with experience and offers a benefit package including; paid time off accrual 13 paid holidays as well as additional time off while the college is closed during winter break.
