Senior Software Engineer (4+ years in Java, TDD, Integration, Pub-Sub)

About the Role:

Gartner is looking for a well-rounded and motivated engineer to join its Conference Technology team which is responsible for developing & supporting applications to support its C-level Conference Tech division.

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with Conference and Broader IT team members in designing and developing technical solutions that meet business needs with respect to functionality performance scalability and reliability.

• Build APIs to integrate with upstream and downstream systems of the c-level conference applications.

• Assist in defining software design - Collaborate with leads to explore existing systems determine right design patterns for enterprise integration.

• Ensure adoption of test-driven development - Champion coding standards build appropriate unit tests integration tests and deployment scripts and review project artifacts created by peers

• Lead the development of maintenance and enhancement work items including performance tuning testing refactoring usability and automation.

• Mentor junior and mid-level developers fostering a culture of learning and growth.

What You Will Need:

• Strong IT professional with 4-6 years of software development experience. The candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must Have:

• BS in Computer Science related fields or equivalent IT experience.

• Strong hands-on experience in Object-Oriented Programming using Java or Ruby

• Proficient in integrating applications using RESTful APIs pub-sub messaging queues and event-driven architecture components

• Strong aptitude for writing and testing efficient code.

• Good Relational DB skills & experience with data mapping transformation and validation.

• Ability to troubleshoot and monitor data synchronization processes

Nice to Have:

• Strong Knowledge of agile methodologies and practices

• Experience with AWS DevOps and CI/CD practices.

• Knowledge of AI tools for developer productivity e.g.: GitHub co-pilot ChatGPT prompts.

• Familiarity with React Native JavaScript frameworks.

• Proactive and capable of working independently with a distributed team (spread across US and India) in a hybrid environment.
