Long-Term Substitute Teacher English (Posted August 7 2025)Start Date: September 22 2025End Date: December 8 2025Job OverviewPurcell Marian is seeking a dynamic mission-driven Long-Term Substitute English Teacher to cover a temporary vacancy in our English department. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literature writing and helping students grow as readers writers and :Deliver engaging standards-based English instruction to high school students in alignment with the schools curriculum and Catholic valuesLeverage existing lesson plans and provide instruction in literature composition grammar and critical analysisAssess and track student progress maintaining accurate records in accordance with school policiesMaintain classroom management and a positive respectful learning environmentCollaborate with colleagues department chair and administrators as neededCommunicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progressParticipate in school functions meetings and professional development as appropriateQualifications:Bachelors degree in English Education or a related field (preferred)Valid Ohio teaching license or long-term substitute licensePrevious high school teaching experience preferredStrong classroom management and communication skillsAbility to integrate technology into the classroomCommitment to the mission and values of Catholic educationPlease send a cover letter and resume to Purcell Marian is focused on inclusivity and developing a diverse team.
