Position: Sessional Lecturer I (1 position available)
Course title and code: APS1001H: Project Management
Course description: Project management has evolved from being an accidental job title into being a chosen profession with career paths and a body of knowledge. This course covers most of the knowledge areas of the Project Management Institute: integration scope cost time risk human resources procurement and communications management. We take a practical applied approach with the PMBOK Guide textbook in-class exercises and a team paper on lessons learned from an actual project. This a completely asynchronous online course.
Estimated Enrolment: Up to 70-100 students
Estimated TA support: TBA
Class schedule: One 3-hour lecture per week.
Sessional date of appointment: Fall 2025
Salary: Minimum level of pay is $9820.7 (Sessional Lecturer I) which includes vacation pay and may increase depending on applicants level of experience and suitability for the position.
Qualifications: Applicants must have minimum of 10 years project management experience in the area of Project Management experience in leading engineering projects. They should also have their PMP addition applicants must have experience using Microsoft Project. The applicant must have knowledge of and experience in teaching the concepts: Integration Management Stakeholder Management Scope Management Time Management Cost Management Communications Management Procurement Management Risk Management and Human Resource Management. Applicants must also have skills in teaching students techniques which work on increasing value to organizations and the marketplace. Applicants should have a strong record of presenting lectures and the ability to effectively translate this skill into an online format. The applicant must be able to administer an online course in an effective manner and explain concepts clearly. Must have taught APS1001 or similar project management course.
